Wide Bay RC Power Boats Inc. is located in Hervey Bay 10 mins from the Town Centre on an 80 acre private farm. The owner is an RC enthusiast and has specifically designed a large undercover structure to operate from. Its also possible to operate out of trailers outside. There is a shaded drivers stand a short walk (no steps) where the view is excellent.
The dam is surrounded by a high tree line which offers great protection from the wind. Never gets too windy to run. The road in is suitable for all vehicles in any weather.
The club has its own rescue vessel with its own dock for easy accessibility. 1/2K racing is done on a regular basis as well as 5/6 oval racing. There’s also a W course for the off shore class.
The owners are happy to offer accommodation in their guest quarters with private facilities. Free camping is also offered free of charge and some Powered and unpowered spots are available around the dam.
The club has to be one of the most active clubs in Australia running every weekend and some week days.
